Dr David Cheah

Short Introduction

Dr. David Cheah is a well known Plastic Surgeon in Malaysia who specializes in reconstructive surgery, maxillofacial trauma surgery and cosmetic surgery. He has been an advocate of non-surgical facial rejuvenation techniques for the use of laser to Botox and the use of Fellar material to rejuvenate the face.

Educational Background

Dr David Cheah commenced plastic surgery training under Welsh Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center at St Lawrence Hospital, Chepstow, UK in 1984 under the tutelage of Mr Michael Tempest (deceased), Mr Milling, Mr Green and Mr Sykes.

This was then probably the largest Plastic Surgery Unit in the UK. He subsequently got a teaching job in the Department of Surgery University of Malaya and became an Associate Professor and Surgery.

He was instrumental in the setting up of a Burns Unit in the University Hospital in 1985. The methodical University set up around his clinical abilities in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and also Cosmetic Surgery. He took up appointment in the KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital in 1991. He is presently the President of the Malaysian Association of Plastic, Aesthetic and Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons. He then proceeded to the Dept of Plastic Surgery New Castle General Hospital and Royal Vic Infrimary in Newcastle Upon Tyne to his further surgical training.
